Featured on Hello May … a huge thanks to Olivia Storrie for the beaut write up:
Bride Katie is owner + Stylist of The Bluebird Collective so it comes as no surprise that this big day was planned to a T and included some of the most legendary vendors in the biz. We’re talking a custom made L’eto Bridal gown, noms from the guys at The Wilderness Chef, vow cards and bar menu by Rebel Reflect, and these here gorgeous snaps by HM fave Folk + Follow. What. A. Lineup. Scroll down for the rest of their cruisey coastal affair…
THE VIBE “We both wanted a relaxed celebration with coastal garden party vibes, nice food, drinks, live music, little formalities, and that’s exactly what we did.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “I loooved my bridal bouquet, it featured an orchid which is my fave, heaps of texture and movement, in fact, just all the flowers. The ceremony blooms were moved to the reception space afterwards and they created the most amazing feature lounge area. I knew as soon as we got engaged that I wanted to use Rach [Botanica Bird], she never disappoints. I also loved the bar menu from Rebel Reflect that read ‘Let’s Get Lit’. It really set the vibe for the evening. We had The Wilderness Chef cook in the open plan kitchen. The guests loved that they could interact with the chefs and see them cooking.”
THE DRESS “Every detail in our wedding had meaning to us and that included where I got my dress from. I had admired L’eto Bridal for ages and Anya’s studio is actually located in the town that I first lived in when I moved to Sydney, so she was at the top of my list. I looked at two other Sydney designers but I had a vision of sheer long sleeves and a feature back. When I tried on my dress it ticked all the boxes. Anya was amazing and she customised the fabric for me so it was ivory with silver embroidery. I also chopped the train off and opted for no veil, I loved the back too much to cover it.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “We both loved it when we asked Josh [LTTLEKNG] if he could do some rapping. He replied with “I don’t usually rap at weddings”. Next minute he’s rapping over ‘Blackstreet – No Diggity’. Everyone was amazed and loved it. That actually turned out to be our unplanned first dance too.”
